1 Kings 19:11–13: The Still Small Voice

Elijah looks for God in the spectacular, and the text says plainly that Yahweh was not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire. God meets him in a still small voice, and that quiet voice sends him back into the same hostile world with a commission, not an escape.
