Ephesians 1:3–14: Father, Son and Spirit Save
Ephesians 1:3–14 describes salvation as a single work of the one God in three movements: the Father chooses and adopts, the Son redeems through his blood, and the Spirit seals and pledges the inheritance. The passage aims the whole work at the praise of God's glory.
Ephesians 1:3–14: Predestination to His Glory
Paul roots the whole of salvation in God's purpose and pleasure, and he names where that purpose lands: the praise of the glory of his grace. Predestination in Ephesians 1 is a personal act of adoption aimed at worship.
