Noah Walked With God: Meaning in Genesis 6
Genesis 6:5–9 sets Noah's walk with God inside a society whose every inclination was called only evil, and it names God's favor before it names Noah's righteousness. The walk is a settled life before God, not a single experience or a claim to sinless perfection.
Genesis 6:5–8: Grief, Judgment, and Noah's Favor
The violence God announces in Genesis 6:5–8 answers real, continual evil and rises out of God's own grief, not temper. Noah's hope rests on finding favor, not on earning it.
Noah's Ark: A Bible Study Series on Genesis 6-9
Eight studies through Genesis 6-9 that take the text seriously and the questions honestly, from the Ark's dimensions to the population genetics that still push back.
Eight People, One Year: Labor, Waste, and Ventilation
Grant the space and the stores, and the hardest onboard problem is still people. Eight of them, several thousand animals, and roughly a year.
Could the Animals Fit? The Space Question
The popular objection is that the animals could never fit. Run the floor-area numbers with the vessel Genesis actually specifies and a kind-based passenger list, and the objection gets weaker than it sounds.
How Big Was the Ark? Cubits, Decks, and Floor Area
Genesis 6:15 gives proportions rather than feet, so the Ark's size depends on how long a cubit was. Both reconstructions produce a vessel far larger than the familiar picture.
"According to Their Kinds": What the Hebrew Word min Means
Genesis repeatedly says the animals came 'according to their kinds.' The Hebrew word behind that phrase is broader and looser than the word species, and the whole capacity question turns on it.
What Genesis Actually Says About the Ark
Most arguments about the Ark are about a boat nobody described. The Genesis account is more specific than the popular cartoon and narrower than the objections.
