Isaiah 6:1–8: How God Calls to Ministry
Isaiah's call did not begin with a plan for ministry but with a sight of the King, high and lifted up. Only after the servant was undone and cleansed did the voice ask who would go.
Isaiah 6:1–8: How to Know God Is Calling You
Isaiah 6:1–8 does not hand us a checklist for detecting a call. It shows a call unfolding in the presence of God: undone by holiness, cleansed from the altar, then sent with a willing answer.
Isaiah 6:1–8: Isaiah's Call and Our Readiness
A genuine call from God begins with seeing him as he is, not with feeling ready. Isaiah's vision in the temple exposes his uncleanness, brings cleansing from the altar, and only then sends him out with a harder message than he expected.
Isaiah 6:1–8: Holy King, Clean Lips, Send Me
Isaiah's call begins with a vision of the exalted King, not with a volunteer. He is undone, cleansed from the altar, and only then does he answer, Here I am. Send me, to a message that will be resisted.
Isaiah 6:1–8: Undone by the Glory of the King
Isaiah's vision shows that the living God is king over all the earth, and that meeting him truthfully undoes a person before it sends them. The cleansing comes from the altar, not from Isaiah, and the sending follows grace.
