The command not to fear in Isaiah 41:10 rests on who is speaking, not on the threat disappearing. God answers fear by giving himself, then promises strength, help and a hand that holds.

Isaiah 41:10 does not promise single parents a trouble-free road. It promises that God himself is with them, strengthens them, and holds them up with his own faithfulness.
