John 16:13–14: The Spirit Who Guides Into Truth
Jesus describes the Spirit's guidance as Christ-centered: the Spirit speaks what he hears, takes what belongs to Jesus, and declares it, so that Jesus is glorified. Guidance into truth is bound to the person and words of Christ.
Jesus: I Am the Resurrection and the Life
Jesus does not merely announce a future resurrection; he claims to be the resurrection and the life in his own person. The hope of the afterlife rests on relationship with the living Christ, who calls for a personal answer.
Christmas carol i wonder as i wander
John does not describe God appearing at a distance or wearing a human disguise. He says the Word became flesh and pitched his life among us, close enough to be seen, and full of grace and truth.
