Mary and Martha: The Better Part in Luke 10
Jesus does not scold Martha for opening her home. He names the anxiety beneath her serving and points her to the one thing Mary had already chosen: sitting at his feet and hearing his word.

Martha welcomed Jesus and then grew distracted by everything she had to do. Jesus does not scold her service but her anxiety, and he commends Mary for choosing the one thing that would not be taken from her.
