Psalm 1:1–3: Delight, Meditation, Rooted Life
Psalm 1:1–3 describes blessing as a settled direction of life rather than a single moment: delight in Yahweh's instruction, a habit of returning to it, and a rootedness that draws life from outside itself. The tree by the streams is set against chaff that has no stability.
Psalm 119:97–104: Why Love Studying God's Word
The psalmist's love for God's word is not affection for information but a response to God himself speaking, and it shows up in his mind, his wisdom, and his conduct. Delight and obedience belong together in this stanza.
