Titus 1:5–9: Elders Who Hold Firm to Sound Doctrine

In Titus 1:5–9 Paul tells Titus what kind of men to appoint as elders in Crete, and the list refuses to separate a man's conduct from his grip on the faithful word. Sound doctrine is a qualification for office, held so the overseer can exhort and correct.
