Luke 1:1–4: Eyewitness Testimony and Careful Order

Luke opens his gospel not with legend but with a claim about transmission: events fulfilled among his generation, handed on by eyewitnesses and servants of the word, and traced carefully from the first. He writes an orderly account so a reader may know the certainty of what he was taught.
