2 Timothy 2:15: Approved by God, Rightly Handling the Word
Paul tells Timothy to labor so that God may approve him, not to claim approval for himself. The test of that approval is a ministry that need not be ashamed because it handles Scripture rightly.
2 Timothy 2:2: Entrusting the Gospel to Faithful People
Paul does not tell Timothy to broadcast the gospel to a crowd but to place it deliberately into faithful hands that can hand it on again. Entrusting the gospel is patient stewardship of people, and it rests on the grace named just before.
