Isaiah 14:12–15: The Fall of the Proud Ruler

Isaiah 14:12–15 is a taunt over a fallen ruler who tried to lift his throne above God. The text's own subject is human pride and God's settled verdict on it, which is why it speaks so powerfully about where the devil came from without answering that question directly.
