The Good Samaritan on the Jericho Road
Jesus does not hand the lawyer a map of who counts as a neighbor. He tells a story about a man beaten on the Jericho road and lets the lawyer name the outsider who showed mercy, then tells him to go and do the same.

Jesus answers a lawyer's question about eternal life by telling a story about a wounded man and an unexpected rescuer. The lesson for children is not that kindness always pays off, but that mercy crosses the lines we draw.
