James 2:1–13: Partiality, the Poor, and Mercy

James will not let faith in the glorious Lord coexist with favoritism. The assembly honored the well dressed and shamed the poor, and James names that as sin against the royal law of love, then points to mercy as the shape of a life judged by a law of freedom.
