Romans 1:18–32: Truth Suppressed, God Gave Them Up
Romans 1:18–32 says the root human sin is suppressing what creation plainly shows about God, and that God responds by giving people up to the desires they have chosen. Same-sex practice appears inside that larger indictment, and Romans 2:1 immediately places the person who judges others under the same verdict.
Romans 1:18–32: What Makes God Angry
Romans 1:18–32 locates God's wrath not in ignorance but in refusal: people know God plainly from creation and still trade his glory for images and his truth for a lie. The repeated sentence that God gave them up shows wrath as God handing people over to the desires they chose.
Why God Gave Them Over in Romans 1:18–32
Paul says the giving over is itself the judgment: God hands people to the very thing they insisted on. The passage diagnoses every human being, which is why Paul turns at once to the reader who judges others.
