Jesus takes the oldest worship argument, the one about location, and answers it by talking about the worshiper and about God. True worship is not a technique for getting something from God but a life that matches who he is.

Jesus moves worship off the map of sacred places and onto the ground of who God is and how he seeks worshipers. The Father is seeking people who come to him in spirit and truth, not people who manufacture a feeling.

Jesus moves the question of worship away from a mountain and a city and toward the worshiper and the God being worshiped. Acceptable worship is measured by the Father's seeking and by devotion shaped by truth.
