Galatians 5:16–25: Fruit, Not Rule Keeping
Paul does not measure maturity by how tightly a person keeps rules but by character the Spirit grows in someone who keeps in step with him. The passage pairs an honest list of fleshly deeds with a single fruit, and it ends by turning the test outward: gentleness toward others rather than self-congratulation.
Works of the Flesh in Galatians 5:16–21
Paul does not hand the Galatians a checklist for self-improvement. He names what the flesh produces, warns that settled practice excludes from the Kingdom, and points to a life led by the Spirit.
