Matthew 22:37–40: Love God Before Ministry
Jesus calls wholehearted love for God the first and great commandment, and says the whole law and the prophets hang on it and on love of neighbor. Ministry is rightly ordered only when it grows out of that love rather than standing in for it.

When Jesus is asked to rank the law, he answers with love for God that takes in heart, soul, and mind. Thinking is not outside discipleship; it is one of the ways Scripture says we love God.
